The Mugello Circuit in Tuscany plays host to this week’s Grand Prix of Italy and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
Two weeks ago Marc Marquez raced to his third consecutive victory when he had a comfortable win at Le Mans. Two of his rivals, Andrea Dovizioso and Johann Zarco both crashed out in separate incidents. Marquez was followed home by Danilo Petrucci in second spot with Valentino Rossi completing the podium.
Marquez has moved 36 points clear of his nearest rival Maverick Vinales and he is now a 1/12 shot to defend his title. Vinales has Johann Zarco and Valentino Rossi hot on his heels trailing him by 1 and 3 points respectively.
Marc Marquez 95
Maverick Vinales 59
Johann Zarco 58
Valentino Rossi 56

Andrea Dovizioso, the Italian rider, celebrated a victory in the Italian Grand Prix in 2017 with Maverick Vinales the runner-up coming in just over a second behind him and another Italian, Danilo Petrucci, completing the podium.
Suggested Bet: Lorenzo win at 16/1
Lorenzo has not been the same rider since changing teams but he does have an excellent record at this track having won 3 of the last 5 races here. Marquez is a worthy favourite but I am going to stick my neck out this week and will back an outsider.
Prices correct at time of posting but will fluctuate in the lead up to the race
