The Italian Open 2016, Betting Preview

The Golf Club Milano in Milan, Italy plays host to this week’s European Tour event from the 15th to the 18th of September.

The Course
The par 71 layout has narrow fairways and small greens. It hosted the Italian Open last year for the 1st time in 27 years and the winning score was -19. Accurate iron play into the small greens is likely to lay the foundation for a successful run at the title this week.

Past winners

2014 – Hennie Otto -20

2013 – Julien Quesne -12

An 16/1

Willett 18/1

Cabrera Bello 20/1

25/1 and better the balance.

My selections for this week:

Brandon Stone each way at 60/1

He has his best showing for some time at the KLM Open where he was in contention after 3 rounds. Already a winner on tour this year he can challenge again and looks well priced.

Julien Quesne each way at 66/1

He is a regular in my staking plans and delivered place money a couple of weeks back. I like to back him on courses where accuracy is more important than distance and he looks a decent fit this week.

Paul Dunne each way at 90/1

My 3rd pick is also a big price and is another who has been in my staking plan before although only once a few weeks back and he never arrived. He has been consistent of late and while not challenging for victories the good run will help his confidence.
