The Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto in Andalucía plays host to the Spanish MotoGP on Sunday and we look at it from a betting perspective.
There was a different look to the podium 3 weeks ago when Alex Rins celebrated his maiden MotoGP victory at the Circuit of the Americas. Marquez who had led from pole position crashed out in Lap 9 and he lost his perfect record at the Circuit of the Americas. Rossi took the runner-up spot and Jack Miller held on for his first podium since 2016. Dovizioso had to settle for fourth place but takes over at the top of the Championship Standings from Marquez although the latter is still a very firm 1/5 favourite for the title.
Andrea Dovizioso 54
Valentino Rossi 51
Alex Rins 49
Marc Marquez 45

Prices correct at time of posting but will change in the lead up to the race and there are a number of other markets on offer.
Marc Marquez took the chequered flag in first spot after storming to the front during the early stages and many of his rivals were involved in a crash on lap 18. Runner-up was Johann Zarco with Andrea Iannone winning the four-way fight with Petrucci, Miller and Rossi to take the final spot on the podium. Marquez is the only multiple winner in the last 5 years.
Suggested Bet: Andrea Dovizioso at 8/1
Dovizioso is leading the championship and while I can understand that Marquez is a firm favourite I am surprised to be getting over 13 times the price on a man who has scored more points than him this season.
