Tour de France 2018 Stage 13 Preview

400

Stage 13 of Tour de France takes place on Friday and the riders leave the Alps setting off from Bourg d’Oisans along a 169.5km route to Valence

Race Update:

Stage 12 saw Geraint Thomas winning for the second consecutive stage ahead of Dumoulin, Bardet and Froome on a dramatic day which concluded on top of Alpe de Huez.

Thomas remains in yellow now 1:39 up on team mate Froome whilst Dumoulin is third (+1:50), Nibali fourth (+2:37) and Roglic (+2:46) rounds out the current top 5.

The King of the Mountains competition sees Alaphilippe lead the way with 84 points with Barguil next best with 70.

Movistar lead the Team Classification, 2:27 seconds up on Team Sky.

The Points Classification is still led by Peter Sagan who has 339 and he only needs to remain upright to keep hold of the green jersey.

In addition to individual stage betting we have a number of outright markets available and you can view all the options here.

Stage Profile

After the brutal days of the Alps we have 1 x Cat 3 and 1 x Cat 4 as the only climbs on route, the last 30kms or so look downhill or flat and there is a slight rise in the run up to the finish.

Verdict:

This would normally look booked for the sprinters but in the Alps some big names including Cavendish, Kittel, Greipel, Groenewegen and Gaviria either abandoned or were eliminated after failing to make the time cut.

The breakaway will fancy their chances and if it contains a number of quality riders it will be hard for the few remaining teams with sprinters to peg back.

It might pay to keep an open mind on this one and we go with Edvald Boasson Hagen and Magnus Cort Nielsen.

Suggested Bets: Edvald B Hagen 14/1

Magnus Cort Nielsen at 28/1
