Tour de France 2018 Stage 16 Preview

Tour de France enters its final week and on Tuesday the riders take on a mountainous stage from Carcassonne to Bagnères-de-Luchon

Race Update:

Stage 15 was won by Magnus Cort Nielsen on Sunday to give Astana 2 stage wins in 2 days. Once again the breakaway was allowed to go more than 10 minutes clear as the Team Sky led peloton had an easy enough day.

There were no changes at the head of the GC so Thomas remains in yellow 1:39 up on team mate Froome whilst Dumoulin is third (+1:50) and Roglic (+2:38)

The King of the Mountains competition sees Alaphilippe lead the way with 92 points with Barguil next best with 70.

Movistar lead the Team Classification, 7:10 up on Bahrain Merida

In addition to individual stage betting we have a number of outright markets available and you can view all the options here.

Stage Profile

We have an early Cat 4 climb which should help the breakaway get established and another Cat 4 follows pretty early. The road rises thereafter and the final 3 climbs include 1 Cat 2 and 2 Cat 1’s before a 10km downhill stretch to the finish.

Note, prices are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change.

There are still 2 more mountain stages to come, on Wednesday and Friday, both of which are tougher than this and that could mean the breakaway are allowed enough rope to fight it out for the stage win.

The King of the Mountains battle between Alaphilippe and Barguil is set get very interesting but one man who doesn’t need to contest the race to be first over the summits is Adam Yates who will be desperate for a stage win to salvage something from a tour that went wrong very early.

Suggested Bets: Yates to win at 7/1
