Uruguay and Portugal meet in a Last 16 World Cup match on Saturday night at the Fisht Stadium and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Uruguay remain outsiders for the World Cup and are priced at 25/1 with Portugal just ahead of them in the betting at 20/1. Brazil tops the betting board at 7/2 ahead of Spain at 4/1 and the other teams under the 10/1 mark are Belgium 13/2, England 15/2 and France at 8/1. Ronaldo is 79/20 third favourite to win the Golden Boot and a joint favourite at 5/1 to win the player of the tournament – click here for outright betting markets

Uruguay topped Group A with 3 victories, the most impressive of which was their 3-0 victory over Russia in their final game. Prior to that they edged Saudi Arabia and Egypt by 1 goal margins and they have yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
Portugal came very close to exiting the tournament when Iran came from behind to make it 1-1 in their 3rd match before missing a late winner. The draw meant they qualified 2nd behind Spain in Pool B and they finished the group undefeated after a 1-0 victory over Morocco and a 3-3 draw with Spain.
These sides have never met in a competitive match.
Suggested bet: The draw at 19/10.
Bookmakers are struggling to separate these sides and I find myself leaning towards a draw after 90 minutes. This should be a low scoring game but the 4/10 under 2.5 goals is a bit short for my liking and I would rather take 5 times that price that we finish all square and head into extra time.
