Wolves v Liverpool, FA Cup 3rd Round Preview

The final FA Cup 3rd round fixture is an all Premier League affair and sees Wolves hosting Liverpool on Monday night.

Wolves are enjoying a good return to the EPL and they currently sit 9th although are coming off a 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace. Prior to that they pulled off an 8/1 upset when they beat Spurs 3-1 away. With Wolves looking almost certain to avoid relegation I would assume they will be taking the FA Cup seriously and they should be highly motivated for this one.

Liverpool are top of the EPL but are coming off their 1st defeat of the season having gone down 2-1 away to rivals Manchester City. That loss broke a run of 8 successive league victories. While Liverpool would love a Cup run they are still involved in the Champions League and I expect them to give some of their fringe players a run.

Liverpool beat Wolves 2-0 away in the league and when the sides met in the FA Cup in the 4th round in 2017 it was Wolves that came out on top 2-1 at Anfield.

Suggested Bet: Wolves win at 61/20

I would not be surprised to see Liverpool exit here. A 2nd straight defeat may cause some panic amongst fans but overall they would be able to focus on the EPL and Champions League. Wolves have shown they can live with the best teams on their day and I am backing them to win although a more conservative punt would be the 9/10 they wither win or draw the game.
