Welcome to this week’s Best Bets blog!
We had another good week last week with 3/4 bets coming in. This weekend things are looking a little tougher, but I think I have some good value bets for us… let’s have a look:
Lions vs Hurricanes
The Lions were impressive at home this past weekend and take on the Hurricanes in their last home game for the season… The Hurricanes will be no push over and are well deserved favourites however I expect a close game and won’t count the Lions out of this one just yet. The Lions +3.5 at 9/10 is my first suggested bet for the weekend.
Highlanders Vs Bulls
The Highlanders are returning home with their tails between their legs after 2 consecutive losses to South African teams, and have a point to prove. Both teams are fighting for their championship survival in a must win encounter, and this should be a close one. The bulls +10.5 at 9/10 seems like a solid bet.
Waratahs vs Brumbies
The Brumbies are running red hot this season and they will want to carry their momentum forward and maintain 1st position in the Australian conference. In my opinion the Waratahs are a false favourite merely because they have home ground advantage, and they have been far from their best. They have already shortened to their current price of 11/10, so grab the Brumbies for an outright win while you can at this price.
There will be some world class local boxing again this Saturday and World Sports Betting is the only bookmaker offering odds! Kevin Lerena takes on Vasil Ducar in the main bout but for me the value sits in a multiple. I am backing Lerena, Gomes, Mokoena and Knapp to all win their respective bouts. The multiple currently works out to 4/1!
Rising Sun Gold Challenge
My last bet for the weekend is a racing bet… as Champions season continues in KZN, we will see one of the most anticipated races this weekend when MET winner Rainbow Bridge takes on defending Durban July winner Do It again over 1600m at Greyville. Also, in the race is De Kock trained Soqrat and the Tarry duo of Matador man and Trip To heaven. Picking the winner is going to be hard, my bet is therefore on Matador Man to place. Currently paying 93/40 on WSB. Coming of a recent win at the same course and distance, I expect him to run a BIG race.
Good luck to everyone following this week!
