Good day and welcome to this week’s edition of Worldy’s Best Bets…
The Premier League may have come to an end, but there is still plenty of exciting soccer to watch this weekend, the most exciting of all for me being the NBK final on Saturday. The Kaizer Chiefs are heavy favourites to win at 1/4 but anything can happen in a final… I am therefore going for the draw at 90Min currently at 4/1 with WSB.
The FA cup final also takes place on Saturday. This looks like a pretty one-sided affair and at home, Man City are well deserved favourites. My Best bet however for this game will be both teams to score, currently at 21/20. Average goals scored in previous encounters between these teams are just over 4 and with the cup on the line, the strikers will be looking for the back of the net as frequently as possible.
The PGA championship starts today and is back at the infamous Bethpage black course… this course is known for its long narrow fairways and hard bunkering throughout so expect even the world’s best golfers to struggle their way through the 4 days…
Dustin Johnson is current favourite at 10/1 but one to watch out for and my first selection has to be Brooks Koepka. Koepka comes of a tied 2nd at the masters and a 4th place at the AT&Ts last week and is known for accurate driving play… the course suits him when he is on form which he certainly appears to be. At 11/1 he is a great player to back.
Other players to keep an eye on will be Spieth at 66/1 who could complete his grand slam with a win here and of course Tiger Woods who at 12/1 makes his first start since his historic Masters win earlier in the year. Both players make for good place bets. Remember WSB is paying 6 places!
Lastly my favourite Rugby team, the Lions, play at home against the Highlanders on Saturday. After last week’s narrow win, the Lions will be looking to make a statement and at 9/10 I make them my last best bet to win. I’ll be right there on the side line as always so if you are going to the game, remember to say hi!
