Worldy’s Best Bets 17.07.2019

Good day and welcome to this week’s Best Bets!

This weekend we have the Open, Springboks vs Australia, a Pacquiao fight and the AFCON final! So, plenty for sports fans to follow… I focused my bets around these 4 events, let’s take a look:

AFCON Final

It’s been a roller-coaster of a tournament and when Senegal and Algeria take to the field on Sunday, it is going to be near impossible to split them. The Betting reflects this too, with both teams evenly priced at 37/20 to win and 17/20 to lift the Cup.

Algeria is on a winning streak and they have a good scoring average at 1.6 per game vs 1.5 for Senegal. Algeria also has a great record against Senegal winning 4 of the last 5 head-to-heads and drawing only once. I therefore give them the win advantage for the final. BUT Senegal will not go down without a fight, expect both teams to be attacking the net from early on. I am going bold and making my best bet Algeria to win and both teams to score. Currently paying 25/4 on WSB!

Pacquiao vs Thurman

The Pacman takes on Keith Thurman on Sunday and I can’t see Thurman have any answer for Manny’s boxing finesse. I am backing Pacquiao to win by Decision at 14/10.

Springboks vs Australia

The Springboks are going into this game as worthy favourites and playing in front of a Sold-out Emirates Airline park is sure to give them the extra boost they need to bring this Championship opener home! South Africa -5.5 at 9/10 seems a great bet!

The OPEN

The OPEN takes place at Royal Portrush this weekend and if it wasn’t hard enough to split this field, the course will do us no favours… Fortunately in Golf you can always back multiple winners and show a profit if anyone arrives… so here are my top picks:

Patrick Cantlay – The Greens at Portrush are tricky and small, there will be allot of scrambling around the greens this weekend and Patrick leads the field in this area. At 28/1 he represents great value.

Brooks Koepka – As if his recent form isn’t enough, Brooks’ caddy is a Portrush local and will know the course better than anyone else out there. A player with Koepka’s ability, coached around a course like this by a local… can only spell danger! At 12/1 Brooks is worth a Bet for the Win.

Tiger Woods – Tiger finished 3 of the lead in this tournament last year and there is no denying he is in better form now than what he was a year ago… Could he be the danger again? At 25/1 for the win and 5/1 for a place, he is always worth a bet.

Justin Rose – Rose recently criticised the new Major schedule and that does cast a small shadow of doubt on his mindset, if not for that I would have made last year’s runner up the Best Bet. But he’s a seasoned professional so let’s not be put off… at 25/1 he has all the skill needed to win this tournament and I will be surprised if he is not right there come Sunday.

Those are my best bets for the weekend, if you are following, Good Luck!
